Growing a Strong Local Economy

Woodinville runs on sales tax and our local economy is powered by everything from family-run shops to world-class wineries. Together, they create jobs, draw visitors, and give our city its unique character. That’s why I’ve partnered with the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, Woodinville Wine Country, the Port of Seattle, and other regional partners to grow quality jobs, strengthen tourism, and help local businesses thrive — all while preserving the small-town charm that makes Woodinville special.

Key initiatives I’ve supported:

  • Led Woodinville’s First Economic Development Plan: Ensuring a long-term strategy to attract businesses, create jobs, and strengthen our local economy.

  • Tourism Partnerships: Partnering with Woodinville Chamber, Woodinville Wine Country and the Port of Seattle to grow regional tourism and spotlight Woodinville as a premier destination.

  • Small Business Support: Advocating for city policies and programs that help family-run businesses succeed and stay competitive, such as the fully revised sign code based on business feedback.

  • Local Jobs + Workforce Development: Encouraging development that provides living-wage jobs so more people who work in Woodinville can afford to live here.

  • Events & Destination Marketing: Supporting festivals, events, and marketing campaigns that bring visitors to Woodinville’s shops, restaurants, and wineries.

  • Balanced Growth : Prioritizing economic development in the walkable downtown core while protecting neighborhood character and open spaces.

  • Investing in Key Economic Drivers: Advocated for strategic investments in tourism, the wine industry, the new Woodinville Creative District, and infrastructure improvements that connect businesses to opportunity.

  • Exploring Affordable Commercial Options : Looking at ways to support a thriving local economy through affordable commercial spaces, pop-up shops, shared storefronts, and flexible business space that give local entrepreneurs room to grow.

By strengthening partnerships and making smart investments, we’re building a Woodinville economy that is vibrant, resilient, and true to our community’s character.
