Inclusive Community for All
Woodinville should be a welcoming, inclusive, and connected community where everyone feels valued, differences are celebrated, and diverse voices are proactively included. That means not just saying the right things, but taking real steps to make inclusion part of how our city works every day.
Key Initiatives I’ve Led or Supported:
First-Ever Community Engagement Plan – I was one of three Councilmembers to volunteer for the extra work of developing Woodinville’s first Community Engagement Plan. This framework guides staff and Council in hosting listening sessions, public meetings, and direct outreach so all residents have a voice in city decisions.
Supporting Woodinville Pride – Supporting Pride is more than a proclamation. I’ve shown up, listened, and worked to ensure that Woodinville is truly a place where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Honoring Cultural Celebrations – Helped bring recognition of important events like Black History Month, Juneteenth, and Pride, reflecting and celebrating the diversity of our community.
Dedicated Community Outreach Coordinator – In 2023, I supported hiring Woodinville’s first-ever Community Outreach Coordinator, tasked with building proactive relationships across the city and making sure diverse opinions, lived experiences, and perspectives help guide our future.
Building an inclusive community doesn’t happen by accident — it takes leadership, action, and a commitment to listening. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, and I’ll keep working to ensure every resident feels at home in Woodinville.
