Building a Blooming, Thriving, Welcoming Woodinville
It’s not every week you get to dive into affordable housing, pollinators, ribbon cuttings, and federal policy—but when you’re passionate about community, sustainability, and making Woodinville a place where everyone can thrive, it all connects.
First stop: Sneak peek inside Eastrail Flats
I kicked off the week with a tour of Eastrail Flats, and wow—this place is next-level. Not only are 25% of the units affordable at 50% of the area median income (yes, really!), but there’s a wine room, herb garden, basketball court, large dog run, and a true sense of community. They also offer a great perk... free wine for residents 21+! How Woodinville is that?!
Next up: UW Bothell Campus Farm
Midweek brought sunshine and pollinators at the UW Bothell Campus Farm, where I spent time with gardeners, botanists, and staff restoring critical habitat. From blooming flowers to buzzing bees, their commitment to biodiversity and sustainability is exactly what leadership looks like—quiet, steady, and transformative.
Third stop: Ribbon cutting at Chateau Ste. Michelle for LiveNation
On Saturday, fellow Councilmember Sarah Arndt and I made a quick trip to the Chateau Ste. Michelle x Live Nation ribbon cutting. My daughter Gabby played chauffeur, dropping us at the Uber zone (yes, that’s a thing!) and picking us up 30 minutes later. We joined the ribbon-cutting celebration to welcome this new chapter for an iconic Woodinville brand… then we had to leave.
I heard from guests that a beautiful evening of music, wine, and community followed with picture-perfect weather.
Last but not least: Listening session with Congresswoman DelBene
I ended the week at a powerful session with Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, the Woodinville Chamber, and Woodinville Wine Country. No topic was off limits—from federal funding to tariffs to growing strong local businesses. I'm proud to be part of conversations that lead to real solutions.
From pollinators to policy to people-centered housing, this week was a reminder: a thriving community is one where everyone has a place—and a voice.
